There are many ways you can contribute your time and skills to the garden-- you don't need to know anything about gardening (though if you do--or would like to learn-- we're happy to have you pitch in.) All the work needed to keep the garden open and beautiful--planning, planting, maintenance and administration--is done by members and volunteers.
Volunteers are needed to:
sweep, clean the tables, chairs and benches, pick up trash
help with special projects
build, maintain and repair paths and brickwork
fertilize, mulch and rake
sweep the paths
water the garden
as well as to dig, plant, weed and do various garden chores.
You don't need to be a member to volunteer; all you need is to contribute a few hours of your time. Volunteering is a great way to meet new friends, get some exercise, and keep your neighborhood green.
To find out how and when you can help, check the 6BC Calendar for scheduled Work Days, or join our 6BC Members Google Group (it's open to non-members, just mention your interest in volunteering when you apply to join the group) or contact us.
Is digging in the dirt not your thing, but you still want to help out? We also need help with non-gardening tasks including:
assistance at events
If you would like to contribute your skills in these areas, please contact us. If you can, please also consider making a financial contribution to support the garden.
